The Federal Court in Brazil has decided to investigate an Israeli soldier who visited the country for tourism purposes following a complaint filed by the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF). According to a statement from HRF's website, the Brazilian government took action based on the complaint made by the foundation about the Israeli soldier who arrived in Brazil as a tourist a week ago. REQUEST FOR URGENT ACTIONThe court issued an "urgent order" to the police to open an investigation into the unnamed Israeli soldier. Referring to Article 88 of the Brazilian Code of Criminal Procedure, the Federal Court requested the police to act urgently within the scope of the investigative measures requested by the prosecutor. "THERE IS EVIDENCE SHOWING THE SUSPECT PERSONALLY PLACED EXPLOSIVES IN GAZA"In the HRF's complaint, it was stated that the actions were part of a broader effort and constituted "genocide and crimes against humanity" under international law. Among the evidence presented in the complaint were video footage showing the Israeli soldier personally placing explosives in Gaza and participating in the destruction of neighborhoods, as well as geographical location data and photographs. HRF requested that the Brazilian authorities act swiftly under the court's investigation decision. "MUST BE ARRESTED"HRF called for the immediate detention of the suspect, highlighting the risks of the soldier fleeing Brazil and destroying evidence. HRF's chief lawyer, Maira Pinheiro, stated that the Israeli soldier's statements and actions clearly align with the "genocide targets in Gaza." Pinheiro said, "To ensure the integrity of the investigation and prevent the individual from fleeing justice, the suspect should not only be detained and released but must be arrested."
