A reserve soldier who entered a shelter during Iran's missile attacks was found dead in Bat Yam. The incident, reported as a suicide by local sources, has pushed the loss statistics within the army to a peak. According to data from October 2025, it is noteworthy that 9 out of the 22 soldiers who committed suicide during the year were in reserve status.

ISRAELIS WHO ENTERED THE SHELTER FOUND

According to a report by the Jerusalem Post based on local sources, Israelis who entered the shelter to protect themselves from Iranian missile attacks encountered the lifeless body of a reserve soldier inside. Initial examinations at the scene and information from military sources confirmed that the individual had committed suicide with a firearm.

Data shared by the Israeli Army Rehabilitation Unit reveals the heavy psychological damage of the war on soldiers in numbers. According to the latest figures released, as of October 2025, a total of 22 active-duty soldiers have committed suicide since the beginning of the year. It was recorded that 9 of these cases were reserve soldiers, and one was in a permanent duty status. The remaining cases were reported to consist of young individuals serving mandatory military service.
