20.04.2018 06:13

Editors meet governor of Gaziantep province and mayor of Gaziantep city.

Anadolu Agency's editors for foreign languages and international news paid a visit late Thursday to Turkey's southeastern province of Gaziantep close to the Syrian border.

Gaziantep Governor Ali Yerlikaya and Fatma Sahin, mayor of Gaziantep city, informed the editors about the situation of Syrian refugees who fled their country due to civil war and are now living in the Turkish city, which is home to hundreds of thousands of Syrians.

They were also informed about rehabilitation work in areas liberated as part of Turkey's Operation Euphrates Shield.

Operation Euphrates Shield was conducted from August 2016 to late March 2017 to improve security, support coalition forces and eliminate terror threats along the Turkish border.

On Monday, the agency's editors from across the world met in Ankara as part of its Annual Editors Meeting.
