Anadolu Agency Wins OANA Award For Excellence In News Agency Quality

Anadolu Agency won the 2020-2021 OANA Award for Excellence in News Agency Quality with its Greenline Project application.

In a statement on Monday, the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) Secretary General Lee Joon-Seung said that they received five applications, with all "clearly showcasing the time and effort put into each project" and the desire by OANA agencies to innovate and take the lead amid the rapidly changing global media environment.

"I would like to express my sincere congratulations to Anadolu Agency for its outstanding achievement," Joon-Seung said.

The official award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the upcoming OANA General Assembly in the Iranian capital Tehran on Oct. 23-26.Founded in 1961, the organization is a forum for the exchange of experiences and know-how for member news agencies.

OANA says, "the award is designed to further experience exchange between OANA members and to improve the quality of making news."Previously, Russia's state-run TASS news agency won the 2019-2020 OANA Award for Excellence in News Agency Quality.

Türkiye's first Environmental Editorial Unit

On April 1, 2022, Anadolu Agency launched its Environmental Editorial Unit to raise social awareness about climate change and environmental issues.

The unit shares special news, detailed files and analysis on climate issues with its followers, with Anadolu Agency's goal of becoming a leading news agency in the world in this field.

The Istanbul-based unit called "Greenline" deals with many issues in the field of the environment, such as climate change, global warming, pollution, zero waste, recycling, sustainability and green energy. -
