Another inheritance dispute has been added to those following the deaths of famous names. After singer Nev passed away, allegations regarding assets and inheritance emerged about her older brother Zeyyat Doğansoy. Doğansoy, who is alleged to have not spoken with his sister for a long time and to have taken action for inheritance proceedings after her death, responded to the allegations through a statement made via his lawyer.
A new one has been added to the inheritance disputes that have come to the agenda after the deaths of famous names. After the singer Nev, who passed away last week at the age of 57, the allegations made about her brother Zeyyat Doğansoy drew attention. It was claimed that Nev and her brother were estranged, and that Doğansoy initiated proceedings regarding the estate after the artist's death. Following the allegations, a statement came from Zeyyat Doğansoy's side.
IT WAS CLAIMED THAT SHE WAS ESTRANGED FROM HER BROTHER
The artist, whose real name was Nevzat Doğansoy, passed away on October 24. Nev, one of the beloved singers of the 2000s, was laid to rest last week at Karacaahmet Cemetery.
It was claimed that the artist's relationship with her brother became strained during the illness of her mother, Tülin Doğansoy, who passed away in 2024. It was further alleged that the two siblings did not see each other after their mother's death, and that Nev did not want to see her brother when he came to visit her during her illness.
IT WAS CLAIMED THAT HE INITIATED PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ESTATE
The allegations did not stop there. It was claimed that Zeyyat Doğansoy went to his sister's home after her death, checked her personal belongings, and conducted an examination to determine the estate.
While it was alleged that inheritance proceedings were initiated for Nev's car, house, and summer house in Bodrum, it was also among the claims that the artist's close friends were not wanted to be invited to the house and that it was planned to put her private guitar collection up for sale.
RESPONSE TO THE ALLEGATIONS FROM HER BROTHER
Following the allegations about him, Zeyyat Doğansoy made a written statement through his lawyer.
In the statement, it was stated that there was no estrangement, resentment, or hostility within the family, and it was expressed that Nev was together with her brother, sister-in-law, nephews, and loved ones throughout her illness.
In the statement, which also responded to the allegations regarding inheritance proceedings, it was noted that the legal processes initiated were not a personal asset determination or a hasty distribution of inheritance, but consisted only of procedures made mandatory by the state and official institutions.
