Argentine club River Plate has signed a contract with 38-year-old experienced center-back Nicolas Otamendi until December 31, 2027. Otamendi, who wore the jerseys of Porto, Valencia, Manchester City, and Benfica during his European career, was also a key figure in the Argentine national team that won the 2022 World Cup.

BACK AFTER 16 YEARS

Otamendi, who began his career at his country's club Velez Sarsfield, moved to Europe in 2010 by transferring to Porto. The experienced player, who played for Valencia, Manchester City, and Benfica respectively, also played on loan at Atletico Mineiro in 2014.
