Armed attack in front of the hospital in Van: 2 dead, 2 injured.

Emrah Budak, a hospital staff member who was seriously injured in a shooting incident in front of the hospital in the Erciş district of Van, has died. The death toll from the incident has risen to 2.

TWO PEOPLE DIED IN THE HOSPITAL SHOOTING

Last night in the Erciş district of Van, a fight broke out between two individuals over a debt issue. Following the fight, A.T., who was taken into custody upon complaint, was shot and killed during a shooting incident while being brought to Erciş Şehit Rıdvan Çevik State Hospital for a health check. Additionally, Emrah Budak, a hospital referral staff member who came to the hospital for treatment, was injured as the assailant fired randomly into the crowd. Despite all medical interventions, the severely injured hospital referral staff member Budak could not be saved.

The person who carried out the shooting, identified as G.D., was shot in the leg by police teams and taken into custody, then transferred to the hospital for treatment. After the incident, Van Governor Ozan Balcı visited the hospital for inspections. Governor Balcı, who received information from hospital officials, stated that the incident is being investigated in detail and made statements regarding the matter.

THE ASSAILANT WAS NEUTRALIZED

Governor Balcı said, "Upon the application of these individuals to the police, a person is taken into custody on the instruction of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegations of 'intentional injury, assault, and coercion.' Today, the suspect is being brought to the hospital for control purposes by the police to be transferred to the courthouse, but he is shot by the person he has a feud with at the hospital entrance. Unfortunately, our citizen has lost his life. As a result of the assailant randomly firing into the crowd, one of our worker brothers, who works as a referral staff member, was severely injured."

Governor Balcı stated that the health worker who was taken into surgery could not be saved despite the doctors' efforts, saying, "Unfortunately, we lost him. I wish God's mercy upon him and condolences to his relatives. Additionally, the person who carried out the shooting was neutralized by our police, who shot him in the leg within the limits of the use of force. The perpetrator is currently in custody," he said.

Governor Balcı was accompanied by Erciş District Governor Murat Karaloğlu, Provincial Police Chief Murat Mutlu, and Provincial Health Director Muhammed Tosun.
