At the traditional mevlit and pilaf day event held in the İnegöl district of Bursa, chicken pilaf was served to approximately one thousand people. About 100 people who experienced nausea and vomiting complaints three hours after the meal applied to the hospital. Gendarmerie teams launched an investigation on suspicion of food poisoning.
After the 2nd Traditional Mevlid-i Sharif and Rice Day event held in the İnegöl district of Bursa, many people fell ill and went to the hospital. An investigation was launched after approximately 100 people who attended the event, where chicken pilaf was served, were taken to the hospital with suspected food poisoning.
CHICKEN PILAF WAS SERVED TO A THOUSAND PEOPLE
The incident occurred in the rural Çitli Neighborhood of İnegöl district. The 2nd Traditional Mevlid-i Sharif and Rice Day event was organized in the neighborhood to commemorate deceased residents with prayers and to strengthen unity and solidarity.
At the event, attended by neighborhood residents as well as many people from surrounding neighborhoods, chicken pilaf was served to approximately one thousand people.
COMPLAINTS BEGAN 3 HOURS LATER
About 3 hours after the event, some citizens began to experience nausea and vomiting. The affected citizens went to İnegöl State Hospital.
It was learned that the number of people who went to the hospital reached approximately 100.
GENDARMERIE LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION
Following the incident, gendarmerie teams launched an investigation. While the possibility of food poisoning caused by the chicken pilaf is being focused on, the exact cause of the incident is expected to become clear after the investigations to be carried out.
