In the Çeşme district of İzmir, Coast Guard and gendarmerie teams took action for irregular Afghan migrants who requested assistance. Eighteen irregular migrants, including 8 children, who were determined to be stranded on land in the Alaçatı Bozalan area, were rescued through the joint efforts of the teams. After their procedures were completed, the migrants were referred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
As a result of a joint operation by the Coast Guard and gendarmerie teams in Çeşme, İzmir, 18 irregular migrants of Afghan nationality, including 8 children, who were stranded on land were rescued. An operation was launched in the area after the migrants requested help.
TEAMS ACTED UPON THE REQUEST FOR HELP
The incident occurred around 21:30 on August 31 at the Alaçatı Bozalan location in the Çeşme district. Teams were dispatched to the area after a report was received that a group of irregular migrants in the region had requested help. Following the report, efforts began to determine the migrants' location and safely extract them from the area.
COAST GUARD AND GENDARMERIE CONDUCTED A JOINT OPERATION
Upon the report, personnel from the Coast Guard Law Enforcement Support Team (Alaçatı/Koldestim) and the Alaçatı Gendarmerie Station Command arrived in the area. As a result of the coordinated efforts of the teams, it was determined that the irregular migrants were stranded on land. The teams reached the migrants and intervened to safely remove the group from their location.
8 OF THOSE RESCUED ARE CHILDREN
As a result of the teams' efforts, a total of 18 irregular migrants of Afghan nationality were rescued. It was stated that 8 children were among those rescued. Thus, through the joint operation of the Coast Guard and gendarmerie personnel dispatched to the area following the request for help, all migrants in the group were reached.
THEY WERE REFERRED TO THE PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE OF MIGRATION MANAGEMENT
After being extracted from the area by the teams, the rescued irregular migrants were processed. Following the completion of procedures, the 18 irregular migrants of Afghan nationality, including 8 children, were referred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
