The "Fire of the Devil" festival held in Guatemala City, the capital of Guatemala, hosted a political protest this year. During the festival, a giant puppet representing U.S. President Donald Trump's immigration policies was set on fire in response to his policies.

This year's traditional "Devil's Fire" festival in Guatemala City turned into a political protest. Participants in the event burned a giant puppet representing U.S. President Donald Trump to express their opposition to his immigration policies.
Every December, the festival features the burning of devil puppets symbolizing evils and bad luck. This year, however, this tradition was reinterpreted with a political message by the protesters.
In addition to ordinary "devil" puppets, figures bearing Trump's face were also thrown into the fire.
"THIS FIRE BURNS NOT ONLY EVIL BUT ALSO INJUSTICE"
A protester participating in the event emphasized that the ceremony was not just a ritual, stating, "This fire cleanses not only the evil spirits of the past but also figures representing the injustices we face today."
TRUMP FIGURES CAUGHT ATTENTION
Artisans in Guatemala produce hundreds of puppets each year for the festival, and this year, Trump figures were added to the theme. Giant puppets reaching up to three meters were purchased by protesters in the squares and set on fire.
In previous years, the festival was associated with anti-corruption messages, but this year it transformed into an international protest against immigration policies.
