At the circumcision wedding held in İstiklal Neighborhood of Teşvikiye, Yalova, chicken pilaf was served to the guests. Approximately 100 guests who felt unwell after eating the meal applied to Çınarcık State Hospital and Yalova Training and Research Hospital with suspected poisoning.
100 PEOPLE POISONED, STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
The number of people who applied to the hospital with suspected food poisoning after attending the wedding, which was attended by approximately 300 guests, is expected to increase.
In a statement made by the Yalova Governor's Office regarding the incident, it was stated, "On July 20, 2025, between 14:00-15:30, at the address of Ova Street, Upper Teşvikiye in İstiklal Neighborhood, during the circumcision ceremony organized by a person named M. Ali Maden, it was reported that 300 people ate chicken pilaf distributed by the wedding hosts since last night, and many people have applied to the hospital stating that they were poisoned by the chicken pilaf. So far, those who have come do not have life-threatening conditions, but they are experiencing nausea."
At Çınarcık State Hospital, 65 people are being treated, and the remaining patients are being transferred to Yalova State Hospital. The investigation in question is being conducted by the Çınarcık District Gendarmerie Command," it was stated.
