It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing. ELECTIONS WENT TO THE SECOND ROUNDIn the presidential election held in Iran, none of the candidates exceeded the 50% threshold, resulting in the reformist candidate Masoud Pezeshkian, who received the most votes, and the conservative candidate Saeed Jalili, who ranked second, advancing to the second round. A total of 24,535,185 votes were cast nationwide, with the reformist candidate and Tebriz MP Masoud Pezeshkian receiving the most votes with 10,415,191. The second highest vote went to the conservative candidate and former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, with 9,473,298 votes. In a statement by the High Election Center, it was announced that the voter turnout was 40% and no candidate reached an absolute majority. The statement said, "The results have been sent to the Guardian Council by the Ministry of Interior. After the Council's approval, the first and second candidates with the most votes will compete in the second round, which will be held next Friday."
