A decision has been made regarding Ayazağa Atatürk Stadium, which was heavily damaged in the flood disaster that occurred after the heavy downpour that affected Istanbul on October 14.
IT WILL BE DEMOLISHED AND REBUILT
The facility, which was completely covered in mud due to the flooding and became unusable, will be demolished and rebuilt. At the facilities hosting Ayazağaspor, one of the Amateur League teams, where both amateur matches are played and young athletes in youth categories receive training, post-flood cleaning and damage assessment work was being carried out. Following the inspections, it was determined that the stadium cannot be used in its current state, and it was decided that the facility should be completely demolished and rebuilt from scratch.
''NEITHER THE PITCH NOR THE LOCKER ROOMS ARE USABLE''
Ayazağaspor Club President Sedat Yaşar, who revealed the severity of the situation after the disaster, said: "We wish the people of Ayazağa a quick recovery. The situation is really very bad. All the materials from the surrounding shops and all the filth and mud swept by the flood filled the club's pitch. Neither the artificial turf, nor the pitch, nor the locker rooms are usable. However, I sincerely believe that our state will not leave us alone in this process."
