Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has suspended flights to three more cities in Russia. In a statement made via social media by AZAL, it was reported that flights to the cities of Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, and Vladikavkaz in Russia have been suspended. Passengers have the right to a full refund of their ticket prices or to change their tickets for free. Thus, the airline has suspended flights to 10 cities in Russia.

In a statement made hours ago by AZAL, it was announced that flights from Baku to seven airports in Russia were canceled considering the initial results of the investigation into the crash of the Embraer 190 aircraft operating flight J2-8243 on the Baku-Grozny route due to physical and technical external interference and existing risks. It was stated that flights to Russia's Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara, Grozny, and Makhachkala airports were suspended as of December 28, according to the decision of the Azerbaijan State Civil Aviation Agency due to potential safety issues in flight operations.

The passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines, carrying 67 people, crashed on December 25 while attempting to make an emergency landing in Aktau, Kazakhstan. In the accident, 38 people lost their lives, while 29 others survived.
