Actress Bahar Şahin, known for productions such as 'O Hayat Benim', 'Zalim İstanbul', 'Gülümse Kaderine' and 'Aynı Yağmur Altında', made striking statements about the roles offered to her in the program she attended. In particular, reacting to the subject of a script, the famous actress drew attention with the words, “Have some decency, for goodness’ sake. Is there no morality at all?”
Actress Bahar Şahin was a guest on the new episode of the program Acı Sohbet (Bitter Conversation) with Sarp Bozkurt. Speaking about her career and the acting offers she received, Şahin said that especially villainous characters are not handled well enough in scripts.
Recalling that after she portrayed the character Ceren Karaçay in the TV series 'Zalim İstanbul' (Cruel Istanbul), producers offered her similar roles, Şahin stated that she had difficulty making sense of the behaviors of characters in some scripts.
"HAVE SOME DECENCY! IS THERE NO MORALITY AT ALL?"
Bahar Şahin, while telling the story of a role offered to her, reacted to the plot in the script.
Şahin used the following statements:
"Some villainous characters are not written well. I mean, no matter how much you push yourself, it doesn't work. But I experience problems like this. Constantly, after Ceren Karaçay, producers say something like this to me. You've read the project, right? Yes, I've read it. Very good. We're looking for a good actress who will justify the villain here. Great. So what did you write? She will fall in love with her dead sister's husband afterward. How will this be justified? So how can this be justified? Have some decency! Is there no morality at all? Her husband dies too."
"NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE, IT ISN'T HANDLED WELL"
Stating that an acting performance alone is not enough to create a successful character, Şahin drew attention to the importance of the script and directing.
The famous actress said, "Sometimes some scripts may not be that good. I mean, the screenwriter may not be able to write well, or the director may not be able to build the world. In that case, no matter how good you are, it isn't handled well."
