MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made critical assessments regarding the agenda at the Opening Ceremony of the 24th Term Education and Training Year of the School of Politics and Leadership. Touching on the process of the PKK's dissolution and İmralı, Bahçeli stated that "Terror-Free Turkey" has become a state policy and said, "The coordination of politicization is also the right of the person in İmralı." Bahçeli also targeted the New Party in the fund scandal debates.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli answered questions from members of the press at the Opening Ceremony of the 24th Term Education and Training Year of his party's School of Politics and Leadership. Giving clear messages on important topics on the agenda, Bahçeli made critical statements on many issues, from the fight against terror to the process of the PKK's dissolution, the situation in İmralı, and the fund scandal debates occupying the public agenda.
"THERE IS NO GOING BACK IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TERROR"
Making statements regarding the process of the PKK's dissolution and the ongoing efforts, Bahçeli drew attention to the legal dimension of the process. Emphasizing "Terror-Free Turkey," MHP Leader Bahçeli used the following statements: "Terror-Free Turkey has become a state policy. Its areas of activity are clear. Work is ongoing. Now, within the framework of the law, certain committees need to be established. There is no going back in the fight against terror. Every person who loves this country must act in the spirit of brotherhood. As the MHP, our word is our bond. Whatever we said, we stand behind it. We have no turning back either. The coordination of politicization is also the right of the person in İmralı."
HE TARGETED THE NEW PARTY
In his speech, Bahçeli also touched upon the fund scandal debates that received wide coverage in the public, and criticized the New Party. Stating that he did not find it right to render definitive judgments about individuals before legal processes and investigations are completed, Bahçeli stressed that patience was needed regarding the allegations. Expressing that the results of the investigation should be awaited, Bahçeli continued his remarks as follows: "As soon as this issue was brought to the agenda, many circles are making different interpretations. It is not right to do this without legal investigation and questioning. It is a wrong path to accuse everyone without investigation and inquiry. There is significant benefit in their being a bit patient. Every person who will serve this country is a person whose hand should be kissed. If there is a crime, its requirement must also be done. That is a separate matter. There is benefit in waiting patiently. The Parliament is in session, the judiciary is in session."
