The ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's mother-in-law and father-in-law have left the UK, and according to information given to MailOnline by neighbors and friends, they are believed to be in Moscow.

Fevaz Ahras, a prominent cardiologist, and retired diplomat Seher Ahras are the parents of Asma al-Assad, who married the ousted Syrian dictator while studying in London in 2000.

The couple lives in a stylish yet modest home in the North Acton area of West London, where they raised Asma. She later led a luxurious life as Syria's First Lady while her husband conducted a campaign of terror against political opponents.

The owner of a Syrian market in Acton, who stated that he knows Ahras, told MailOnline: "I saw him about ten days ago. He said he would be going abroad for a while and that his wife was already outside the country."

"He didn't say where he was going, but there is a large Syrian community in Acton, and rumors suggest they went to Moscow to comfort their daughters and sons-in-law. This didn't surprise us because they are a close family and have always supported their daughters."

A neighbor who has known the family for 30 years but wished to remain anonymous said the house has been empty for a week and that the Ahras couple likely flew to Russia to meet their daughters and family.

The Kremlin confirmed that after fleeing Syria, Assad, Asma, and their three children were granted asylum at the direct order of Vladimir Putin.

Acton, a suburb of London, hosts one of the largest Syrian communities in the capital, with many gathering at a local café to discuss events in their home country.

A man named Tariq said: "We all know that Asma's family lives in Acton, but we don't bother them because it's not their fault that their son-in-law is such a cruel tyrant. We also don't want to do anything illegal in this country."

"We heard that they left England for now, partly for their own safety and because they want to be with their daughters."

Abdel, who said his father knows Ahras, added: "He and his wife are not in England. They are probably comforting their daughters and helping to spend the money they stole from the Syrian people."

The Ahras couple raised their daughter Asma in a terraced house now worth £1 million.

Born in 1975, Asma had a privileged childhood before carving out a successful career in international banking.

Apparently, Asma was destined for a glamorous career, raised by hardworking Syrian parents.

As a child, she enrolled in the prestigious private school Queen's College, Marylebone, which charged around £9,000 per term, and graduated in 1996 with a degree in computer science and French literature from King's College London.

Even her school friends, who knew her simply as 'Emma', could not have imagined that she would marry an authoritarian president who would rule Syria with an iron fist. She would later be referred to as 'the First Lady of Hell.'
