The Bayraktar TB2 UAV will protect the skies of another country. Baykar, the world's largest unmanned aerial vehicle company, has signed a historic agreement with Croatia for the export of the Bayraktar TB2 UAV.
At the ceremony held in the capital Zagreb, the export agreement was signed by Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anusic and Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar.
NATO AND EU COUNTRIES' SKIES With this signature, the Bayraktar TB2 has entered the inventory of another NATO and European Union (EU) member country. This agreement once again confirmed Baykar's global leadership. The Bayraktar TB2, described by experts as a UAV that changes the nature of the battlefield, is preferred by countries in Asia and Africa, as well as by EU and NATO member countries. As of November 2024, national UAVs continue to successfully serve in the inventories of 6 NATO member countries and 4 EU member countries. ONE STEP CLOSER TO 1 MILLION HOURS Entering the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in 2014, produced with a 93% domestic rate, and operating around the world, the Bayraktar TB2 UAVs successfully surpassed 950,000 flight hours as of September 2024. Thus, the Bayraktar TB2 became the national aircraft that stayed in the sky the longest in the history of aviation. , HOLDER OF RECORDS The Bayraktar TB2, which holds significant records in the history of aviation, broke the altitude record for Turkey in its class at 27,030 feet. The national UAV set another record by flying continuously for 27 hours and 3 minutes under challenging geographical and climatic conditions, such as high temperatures and sandstorms, during a demo flight in Kuwait on July 16, 2019. A FIRST IN WORLD AVIATION: UAV PERFORMING A BARREL ROLL The national UAV Bayraktar TB2, which has achieved firsts in Turkish aviation history, made its mark in aviation history once again as the first and only UAV in the world to successfully perform an autonomous barrel roll maneuver during test flights on May 31, 2024. The barrel roll, one of the important escape maneuvers of fighter jets, has never been successfully performed by any UAV in the world until now. HERO OF KARABAKH In addition to the critical roles that Bayraktar TB2 UAVs have played in Turkey's fight against terrorism, they have also proven themselves with their superior performance in international operations. The national UAVs played a key role in ending the 30-year occupation of Karabakh, as well as in conflicts and wars in various geographies. FROM EARTHQUAKES TO FOREST FIRE FIGHTING In addition to security duties, national UAVs also play an active role in civil missions such as disasters like earthquakes and floods, search and rescue operations, irregular migration tracking, and combating forest fires. The Bayraktar TB2 UAVs, which operated during the 6.8 magnitude earthquake centered in Sivrice, Elazığ on January 24, 2020, flew for 2,417 hours and 6 minutes during the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023. In this context, a total of 42 Bayraktar TB2s, including 8 integrated with Baykar Rapid Mapping Pod, were deployed. In the fight against forest fires, a total of 4,091 fires were detected and extinguished by Bayraktar TB2 UAVs before they could grow between 2020 and 2024. EXPORT CHAMPION Baykar, which has carried out all its projects with its own resources since the beginning, has obtained 83% of its total revenue from exports since the start of the UAV R&D process in 2003. In 2023, Baykar achieved an export of 1.8 billion dollars, ranking among the top 10 companies with the highest exports in all sectors in our country. Baykar, which received the Export Champions Award, was the export leader in the defense and aviation sector in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In recent years, Baykar has obtained more than 90% of its revenue from exports, and in 2023, it alone accounted for one-third of the defense and aviation sector's exports. Currently, 97.5% of the contracts signed by Baykar, the world's largest unmanned aerial vehicle company, are export-related. Export agreements have been signed with a total of 35 countries, including 34 for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and 10 for the Bayraktar AKINCI UAV.
