BBP Chairman Destici: If there is no constitutional amendment, early elections may be held in 2027.

Speaking about the discussions on early elections, BBP (Great Unity Party) Chairman Mustafa Destici stated, "If there is no constitutional amendment, or if there is no regulation regarding political methods and parties in the constitutional amendment made, then my prediction is that early elections will be held in the spring of 2027, around May or June."

Mustafa Destici, the Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), made statements at a press conference organized by his party's provincial presidency in Bursa. He expressed that new regulations would be made along with the judicial reform draft presented to the Parliament, which they support, but it does not fully meet their expectations.

Stating that they have been requesting the death penalty for two types of crimes since 2010 as BBP, Destici said, "The first is for the perverted criminals who rape our children and women and then kill them. The second is for the terrorists who martyr our soldiers, police officers, and teachers by directly shooting or detonating bombs. We want the death penalty to be reinstated for them."

"THE MINIMUM WAGE SHOULD NOT BE BELOW 25 THOUSAND LIRA"

Destici also addressed the minimum wage amount to be determined in 2025, stating: "Despite our insistence in July, no interim increase was given to the minimum wage. Bursa is an industrial city, and there are perhaps hundreds of thousands of our brothers working for minimum wage. No interim increase was given to the minimum wage. It was given to civil servants, civil servant retirees, and all SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees, but not to those on minimum wage. Therefore, the minimum wage should be increased at least in line with the inflation rate that will occur by the end of the year. In our opinion, the minimum wage should not be below 25 thousand lira."

In response to a journalist's question about stray street dogs, Destici said, "We must make our streets safe for our children, women, and people. The Great Unity Party has 20 municipalities. In all 20 of its municipalities, you cannot show even a single negative incident, let alone a collective negative event. Therefore, we are doing our job competently, but I say once again. We do not want aggressive, sick, stray dogs roaming the streets. Protecting our citizens from them is a duty for us."
