When the deduction of 750 TL was put on hold, Destici clarified his remarks that had drawn reactions.

Regarding the withdrawal of the proposal to deduct 750 TL from credit cards for the defense industry support fund, BBP leader Mustafa Destici stated that his previous remarks were misunderstood, saying, "What are they saying? 'He said Armenian, he said DEM, he said Greek.' I have no such statement. My comments have been distorted."

One of the most talked-about agenda items in recent days has been the Defense Industry Fund. The AK Party had submitted a bill to the Parliament last Friday, which is expected to reach an annual total volume of 80 billion lira as service fees and taxes for defense industry projects.

REGULATION POSTPONED

With the proposed bill, a deduction of 750 TL would be made for each credit card holder with a limit exceeding 100,000 lira. However, following discussions in the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission, AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler announced that the regulation for collecting an annual tax of 750 TL from credit cards has been postponed.

DESTİCİ'S WORDS SPARKED REACTIONS

While discussions on the subject continue, the words of Mustafa Destici, the General Chairman of the Great Unity Party, remain in the spotlight. In a statement made a few days ago, Destici said, "If you have a credit card limit of 100,000 TL and you don't pay 750 TL, your end will be like Syria and Palestine. To avoid paying 750 lira a year, cancel the cards of those who reduce their credit card limits from 100,000 to 99,000. What do we hear from the politicians they support? They are not defending nationalists, they are defending DEMs. They defend Greece when Turkey and Greece come face to face, they defend the West, they defend Armenia. I have never seen any of them defend the Republic of Turkey."

HE SAYS "MY WORDS WERE DISTORTED"

After the postponement of the Defense Industry Fund, BBP leader Destici appeared before the cameras today, stating that his previous statements had been distorted, saying, "The government may accept this or not. They may implement it or not. This is their own business. We expressed that our defense industry needs to be supported due to the importance of the issue, and we stand by that. While expressing this, we did not insult anyone, nor did we accuse anyone. I only emphasized the stance of Turkey's enemies regarding the fight against terrorism and foreign policy. In this situation, I was accused based on words I did not say. I said this in this hall last week. There is also a video of it. But what do they say? 'He called those who oppose this Armenians, Greeks.' I have no such statement. But if they associate that with themselves, I have nothing to say about it. They said I said words that I did not say. I said, 'Cancel the credit cards of everyone who lowers their limit below 100,000.' I said that for three groups. I mentioned those who reduce their credit card limits from 100,000 to 99,000 to avoid paying just about 62 lira, which is the price of a pack of cigarettes or a cup of tea in luxury cafes, high-income individuals who do not want our defense industry to develop, especially those ungrateful artists who earn millions from a concert, athletes, or those who rush to the bank. I said, 'Cancel the credit cards of media personnel who receive salaries in dollars and the politicians who support them.' I am only saying this for these three groups, and their numbers are known. But they are trying to gain public support as if I said this to everyone."
