Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko drew all attention to himself with his visit to the local fast food chain "Mak. By," which has replaced McDonald's in his country. Known for his fondness for fries, Lukashenko, who has kept his distance from fast food-style frying until now, tasted locally produced French fries for the first time during this visit.
"WOW, REALLY DELICIOUS"
During his visit to the "Mak. By" restaurant, which promotes local production instead of imported products, Lukashenko tasted the French fries offered to him. At the tasting moment, the Belarusian leader, expressing his confidence in local production, said, "Wow, really delicious!" as the moments were captured on camera.
"I WENT TO THE RESTAURANT 3 TIMES" CONFESSION
After placing his order through the kiosk, Lukashenko turned to those around him and confessed how distant he was from fast food culture by saying, "This is my first time at Mak.by. I think I've only been to a restaurant three times in my life, and those were old Soviet restaurants."
On the other hand, Lukashenko also stated that the product is made entirely from potatoes grown in Belarus.
MARCH 8 GESTURE
Immediately after the taste test, Lukashenko made a move that highlighted the importance of the day. Remembering that it was International Women's Day on March 8, the leader not only enjoyed the fries he liked but also turned to the young girls sitting at the next table and offered them some of his fries, saying, "Today is your day, try these too."
