TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu made a statement regarding the situation of the leagues after the betting investigation. Hacıosmanoğlu said, "We are in talks with the clubs. The legal department is evaluating the issue. We are trying to find a formula for the continuation of the leagues."

As new details and names emerge regarding the betting investigation in Turkey, the situation of the leagues has started to be questioned.

2ND LEAGUE AND 3RD LEAGUE HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED FOR TWO WEEKS

The TFF announced that 1,024 football players have engaged in betting, and these individuals have been referred to the Professional Football Discipline Board. A total of 27 players from the Super League, 77 from the 1st League, 282 from the 2nd League, and 629 from the 3rd League, along with 9 professional players, have been disciplined. The 2nd League and 3rd League have been suspended for two weeks.

While it is claimed that the number of football players engaging in betting may increase in the coming days, a statement regarding the situation of the leagues has come from the federation front. It is expected that players who have engaged in betting will receive at least a 3-month penalty, while it has been announced that the TFF is seeking solutions for the future of the leagues.

"WE ARE TRYING TO FIND A FORMULA"

RELEGATION THREAT

On the other hand, if presidents and managers who engage in betting are identified and a decision is made that they 'affected the outcome of the competition', according to Article 56 of the Football Discipline Regulations, the relevant clubs may face a penalty of relegation to a lower league.

It is prohibited to influence the outcome or process of a competition in a manner contrary to law or sports ethics. Offering incentive bonuses is also included in this scope. If managers or presidents receive penalties as a result of the proceedings, the relevant clubs will face relegation under Article 56 of the Football Discipline Regulations.

WHAT DOES ARTICLE 56 SAY?

(a) Those who commit the violations mentioned above shall be subjected to a penalty of permanent deprivation of rights.

(b) If the violations mentioned above are committed by club managers, the relevant clubs shall be subjected to a penalty of relegation to a lower league.

(c) Additionally, individuals responsible for the violation may be subjected to a monetary fine.
