Civil Police teams, launching a large-scale operation immediately after the murder, identified the suspects' escape route. The motorcycle used by the attackers during their escape was found abandoned on the edge of the Monteiro Lobato Highway. As a result of joint coordination with the Rio de Janeiro state police, a vehicle determined to be linked to the murder was stopped in the Itatiaia region. Three suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody and brought to the police station. It was reported that no weapons were found on the individuals.
