Borsa İstanbul announced that it has initiated an evaluation process to gather the opinions of all market stakeholders regarding the feasibility of transitioning to a T+1 settlement cycle, its potential effects on the capital market, and the possible outcomes for market participants. In a statement from Borsa İstanbul, the following was stated: "As is known, for capital market instruments traded on the Borsa İstanbul Equity Market, the settlement date is applied as the second business day following the transaction day (T+2).

REVOLUTIONARY STEP

Recently, significant developments have occurred in global financial markets towards shortening the settlement period. The United States is set to transition to (T+1) on 28/05/2024, while the European Union, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom have targeted 11/10/2027 for their transition to the (T+1) system.
