Borsa Istanbul Stocks Flat At Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.08 percent or 69.52 points to open at 91,226.40 points on Thursday.



On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 0.51 percent to close the day at 91,156.88 points with a daily trading volume of 5.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.02 billion).



The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 5.4800 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Wednesday's closing rate of 5.5050.



The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.3340, versus 6.3150 at the last close. One British pound traded for 7.0180 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.0240 at market close on Wednesday.



The price of Brent oil increased to $60.84 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Thursday, versus $60.39 at Wednesday's close. -
