Borsa Istanbul Stocks Flat At Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index dropped slightly by 0.05 percent or 55.01 points to open at 104,806.63 points Wednesday.



On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.26 percent to close the day at 104,861.64 points with a daily trading volume of 9.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).



The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 5.4830 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 5.4780 at Tuesday's close.



The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.2240, versus 6.2210 at the last close.



One British pound traded for 7.2790 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.2810 at market close Tuesday.



The price of Brent oil was around $67.80 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time Wednesday. -
