Borsa Istanbul Up 0.45% At Weekly Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,198.08 points on Monday, rising 0.45% or 5.35 points from the previous close.

At the last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.04% at 1,192.73 points, with a daily trading volume of some 19.3 billion Turkish liras ($2.44 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.9220 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.9040 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly increased to 9.2760 from 9.2710, while one British pound traded for 10.2720 Turkish liras, versus 10.2520 at Friday's close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $42.86 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
