Borsa Istanbul Up At Thursday's Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened on Thursday at 1.405,26 points, rising 0.21% or 2.91 points from the previous close.

At Wednesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down by 0.53% at 1,402.35 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.1 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.6400 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, from 8.6280.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.3200, versus 10.3170, while one British pound traded for 12.0800 Turkish liras, down from 12.1080.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $75.45 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
