A building crash killed two workers in Philippines on Monday, local media reported.
The incident happened when an old hotel building, put on demolition notice by local municipality on Aug. 2 in Malate area of the capital Manila for dismantling, came down crashing, The Manila Times reported.
The local Mayor Isko Moreno said that the deceased were identified as Jerome Fabello and Melo Ison. The two bodies were retrieved from the rubble.
Ison's brother Edson was injured and rushed to a local hospital.
The demolition work of the building, which has been vacant for a year, started on Aug. 2, said the report, citing police officials.
There were 22 workers at the crash site. The others were rescued safely. -
