Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal made statements regarding her absence from the anti-trustee rally held in Esenyurt while being a guest on TV100 screens.
“I have been saying this everywhere since before the elections. As an Atatürkist elected with the rights granted by Atatürk, my stance is clear,” said Burcu Köksal, who, in a moment of excitement during the live broadcast, failed to list the principles represented by the 6 arrows of the CHP.
Highlights from Köksal's statements;
“As a CHP member, I do not have to love another party. I do not have to have sympathy for another party. My distance from the DEM Party is nobody's business, just as someone else's closeness to the DEM Party does not concern me.
"I WILL NOT BE AT A RALLY WHERE DEM PARTY MEMBERS ARE PRESENT"
(Regarding the rally in Esenyurt) I will not be at a rally where DEM Party members are present, or where the co-chair of the DEM Party is speaking, or even on top of a bus. Everyone knows this. My stance against DEM is clear.
"EVERYONE MUST RESPECT MY OPINION"
I established an 'Afyonkarahisar Alliance' in Afyonkarahisar and explained to the voters that I am progressing in line with Atatürk's principles. I have always said that I will not deviate from Atatürk's path until my last breath. The voters believed, trusted, and supported me. This is my stance. Everyone must respect my opinion. Just as I show respect, everyone must also respect my opinion. In Turkey, rights, law, and justice are for all of us.”
STATEMENT ON CANDIDACY
When asked about her candidacy for the presidency, Köksal stated, “I do not have such an ambition.”
