İsmet Acar, the founder of the Acarlar Companies Group and a businessman synonymous with Acarkent in Beykoz, Istanbul, who passed away at the age of 80, was laid to rest. Acar was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery after the afternoon prayer at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque in Levent, Istanbul. Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known as Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca, also attended the funeral.
The founder of the Acarlar Group of Companies and the architect of the Acarkent project in Istanbul's Beykoz district, renowned businessman İsmet Acar, passed away at the age of 80. After the ceremony, which was also attended by Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known publicly as 'Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca,' Acar's body was laid to rest at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery with prayers.
WHO IS İSMET ACAR? İsmet Acar was born on April 1, 1946, in the village of Aralık in the Borçka district of Artvin. After completing his high school education at Artvin High School, he began his working life on May 1, 1965, as a worker in the Village Roads department under the Directorate of Public Works in Istanbul.
İsmet Acar Acar continued his education at the evening civil engineering department of Işık Engineering High School. He later served in the YSE organization and began his union career in 1967 as a secretary at the Istanbul branch of the YSE-İŞ Union. During his union life, he held positions such as General Secretary of the YOL-İŞ Federation and Member of the Board of Directors of TÜRK-İŞ. In 1983, he left his union duties and stepped into the business world.
With the Acarlar Group of Companies, which he founded in 1983, he operated in various fields, primarily construction and real estate. He became one of the figures who left a mark on the development of Beykoz with the Acarlar Neighborhood and Acarkent project.
İsmet Acar was also remembered for his activities in education, culture, social solidarity, and efforts towards the Turkish-Georgian community, alongside his business endeavors.
