The family of Çağatay Ulusoy, who was born in Istanbul, is Bosniak on his mother's side and of Bulgarian immigrant background on his father's side. The actor had gone to Bulgaria last year and applied for dual citizenship. It had emerged with a photo taken during the procedures that Ulusoy had also obtained Bulgarian citizenship.
