Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, along with his accompanying delegation, has arrived in Muscat to participate in the third round of Iran-U.S. nuclear talks to be held in Oman. Iran has stated that it is determined to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and is ready to provide assurances to the other side.

The spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bekayi, announced that Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi and his accompanying delegation have arrived in Muscat to participate in the third round of talks between Iran and the USA.

The "nuclear" talks between Iran and the USA, mediated by Oman, are ongoing. Ismail Bekayi, the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated on his social media account, "Foreign Minister Arakçi and his accompanying delegation have arrived in Muscat to participate in the third round of Iran-US talks, which will begin tomorrow morning under the mediation of Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamed al-Busaidi."

"WE ARE READY TO PROVIDE REASONABLE ASSURANCES TO THE OTHER SIDE"

Bekayi stated that they are determined to protect Iran's legal and legitimate rights regarding the peaceful use of nuclear energy, saying, "At the same time, we are ready to provide reasonable assurances to the other side that our program is entirely peaceful."

"ILLEGAL SANCTIONS MUST BE LIFTED"

Bekayi emphasized that their priority is to swiftly and concretely end the illegal and inhumane sanctions against the Iranian people, stating, "Time will show how serious and ready the other side is for a fair and realistic agreement."

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE PARTIES?

The negotiations between the USA and Iran are seen as processes aimed first at building mutual trust and then at creating a framework for an agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program. The USA wants Iran to stop the production of highly enriched uranium, which it believes is used for making atomic bombs. Iran, which claims that its nuclear program has always been peaceful, states that it is ready to "restrict" its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, while seeking guarantees that the USA will not back down.

It is reported that Iran will not agree to dismantle its uranium enrichment centrifuges, completely halt uranium enrichment, or reduce its stock of enriched uranium below the levels agreed upon in the 2015 agreement.
