Fenerbahçe, who visited Swiss representative Lugano in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round, managed to defeat their opponent 4-3 despite being 1-0 behind. The rematch match, which will determine the team advancing to the next round, will be played on Tuesday, July 30th at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Fenerbahçe visited Swiss representative Lugano in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round. Despite falling behind 1-0 in the match played at Stockholm Arena, the yellow-blues managed to win 4-3.

LUGANO STARTED WITH A GOAL

Lugano, who started the match quickly, found the goal in the 4th minute. El Wafi headed the ball into the net with a header after a corner kick, giving his team a 1-0 lead against Fenerbahçe.

CANARY EQUALIZED WITH A PENALTY GOAL

Fenerbahçe, who started to search for an equalizer after the goal, won a penalty in the 44th minute when Tadic fell in the penalty area. Dzeko, who took the penalty for the yellow-blues, managed to send the ball into the net, and the first half ended with a 1-1 draw.

DZEKO ON THE STAGE AGAIN

Dzeko, who scored Fenerbahçe's first official goal of the season in the first half, took the stage again at the beginning of the second half. The experienced striker scored his and his team's second goal with a powerful shot in the 46th minute after Tadic's pass. With this goal, Fenerbahçe took a 2-1 lead.

LUGANO EQUALIZED THE SCORE

In the 64th minute, Bismiti, who received the ball inside the penalty area in a Lugano attack from the left wing, sent the ball into the net with a shot towards the far post. This goal brought balance back to the match.

BOSNIAN STRIKER SCORED A HAT-TRICK

Just 3 minutes after this goal, Dzeko, who showed his class once again, scored a hat-trick. Szymanski quickly sent the ball to the Bosnian striker inside the penalty area, who scored with a single shot and put his team ahead again with a score of 3-2.

CLOSURE BY FERDI

The goal that relieved Fenerbahçe and determined the score came from Ferdi Kadıoğlu in the 73rd minute. Ferdi, who received the ball in a quickly taken free-kick, left the goalkeeper helpless with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area and brought the yellow-blues to a 4-2 lead.

SWISS TEAM REDUCED THE GAP TO 1

Although Lugano found another goal with Milton Valenzuela in the last minute of the match and reduced the gap to 1, this goal was not enough for the Swiss representative.

CANARY TOOK THE ADVANTAGE

With no more goals in the remaining minutes, Fenerbahçe, who fell behind 1-0 in the match, won 4-3 against Lugano with goals from Dzeko (3) and Ferdi Kadıoğlu, and obtained an advantageous score before the rematch match to be played in Kadıköy.

MOURINHO STARTED WITH A VICTORY

Fenerbahçe's head coach Jose Mourinho played his first official match with the yellow-blues in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round against Swiss representative Lugano. The Portuguese coach, who managed to defeat his opponent 4-3 in the match where his team fell behind 1-0, started his Fenerbahçe career with a victory.
