CEO Gürcan Karakaş: We are exploring opportunities for a Chinese partner for Togg.

The CEO of Togg, Gürcan Karakaş, made statements regarding the company's export targets and partnership opportunities. Karakaş mentioned that potential partnership options for Togg are being evaluated and stated that exports will begin in September 2025. Speaking to Bloomberg HT at the COP29 summit held in Baku, Azerbaijan, Karakaş shared the latest developments about the company.

"OUR GEMLİK FACILITY IS THE CLEANEST IN EUROPE"

Karakaş stated that Togg pays attention to sustainability and the environment in its production process. He said, "We were born as a company that prioritizes a green world and sustainability in its DNA. One of our fundamental promises is to genuinely contribute to our environment in the medium to long term. Therefore, while developing a zero-emission vehicle, we also paid attention to its production. Our facility in Gemlik is the cleanest facility in Europe," he expressed.

"WE OPERATE WITH 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY"

Karakaş noted that the energy at Trugo charging stations comes from renewable sources. He stated, "We operate with 100% renewable energy both to differentiate ourselves and to stand behind our promises. We see that the importance of this is increasingly resonating with our users every day. Such an investment is not a small one. We have spent nearly 2 billion euros so far. In doing this, we prioritized sustainability with the support of our partners and our vision and strategy," he said.

Karakaş mentioned, "Last year, there was a demand beyond our expectations. We received pre-orders for 177,000 vehicles. We successfully completed the deliveries last year. This year, there is no longer a queue; the system is established. Because the system is established, we are producing and delivering the configurations chosen by our users through Trumore within 1-3 weeks, depending on the choice of configuration," he stated.

"WE ARE EVALUATING PARTNERSHIP STUDIES"

Karakaş indicated that Togg's sales system is established and that vehicle deliveries are made within 1-3 weeks based on customer configuration. Emphasizing that they see innovation as a continuous goal, Karakaş also mentioned possible partnership studies with Chinese companies, saying, "We are evaluating such opportunities, and we will announce when we reach a certain point. However, we do not expect to reach this point for another two years," he said.

EXPORT TO EUROPE WILL START IN SEPTEMBER 2025

Karakaş also stated that tests for a new model are ongoing and that pre-orders are planned to start in April. He expressed that their primary goal regarding exports is to achieve success in Turkey, saying, "Currently, one in three electric vehicles sold in Turkey is Togg. We plan to start our exports to Europe around September 2025," he announced. Karakaş noted that they sold 40,000 vehicles through direct sales methods and that they could also evaluate alternative sales models.
