A ceremony was held for a non-commissioned officer Necdet Aydoğdu who was killed in an armed attack by the people who are believed to have link with the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Wednesday.
Reportedly, 24-year-old man was shot in the head while shopping with his wife in Bağlar district. seriously injured Aydoğdu died at the hospital he was taken on the same day.
In the morning, a ceremony was held for martyred officer at the Diyarbakır Combat Air Force and Air Missile Defense Command. Air Forces Commander Akın Öztürk, 7 th Army Commander İbrahim Yılmaz, Diyarbakır Governor Hüseyin Aksoy attended at the event as well as large numbers of people.
This attack came four days after three Turkish soldiers were killed in the southeastern province of Hakkari, near the Iraqi border, on Saturday. In that incident, one Turkish soldier and two special sergeants were shot dead on Saturday by unidentified masked men suspected of having links to the PKK.
