Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent order to the military to carry out airstrikes on the Dahiye district in southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, residents have begun to leave their homes.

MANY FAMILIES ARE LEAVING THE CAPITAL

Dahiye residents, who had returned to their homes after the ceasefire declared on April 17, are now forced to migrate from the area once again following Netanyahu's attack order. As heavy traffic congestion formed at the main exit points of Dahiye, home to hundreds of thousands of people, many families headed toward areas in the capital considered relatively safer.

The Israeli army, as part of the attacks it launched on March 2, carried out intense airstrikes on Dahiye, known as Hezbollah's stronghold, and residents were forced to leave their homes during this process.

THE DAHIYE DISTRICT UNDER ISRAEL'S TARGET

The Dahiye district includes densely populated neighborhoods such as Hureyk, Burj el-Barajneh, Ghuberi, and El-Mureyce.

Dahiye, where the population is predominantly Shia Muslim, stands out as a center where Hezbollah is politically and socially strong.

Dahiye is home to residential areas, commercial centers, marketplaces, as well as the Palestinian refugee camps of Burj el-Barajneh, Sabra, and Shatilla.
