Child court judge harassed intern girl: He closed the curtains and tried to kiss my lips.

The 36-year-old judge A.E., who works at the 4th Children's Court in Adana, has been charged with sexually assaulting 18-year-old B.I., a high school student studying in the Department of Justice, who was interning with him. The indictment includes security camera footage of B.I. leaving the judge's office in a panic.

SHE WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED IN THE OFFICE OF THE JUDGE SHE WAS INTERNING WITH

B.I., who is studying in the Department of Justice at a high school in Adana, started interning with Judge A.E. at the 4th Children's Court in September 2022. According to the allegations, Judge A.E. sexually assaulted B.I. in his office in November.

SHE TOLD HER PSYCHOLOGIST COUSIN ABOUT THE INCIDENT

After the incident, B.I. told her psychologist cousin about what happened, and when her mother found out, she reported the situation to the school principal. Adana 4th Children's Court judge A.E. was investigated with the intervention of the school administration.

JUDGE REMOVED FROM DUTY, 15 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT DEMANDED

During the investigation, the judge was first transferred to another duty, and then suspended from duty. Adana Tarsus Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment and filed a lawsuit against the judge for "Simple sexual assault" with a demand for up to 15 years of imprisonment.

B.I., the victim whose statement is included in the indictment accepted by the Tarsus 2nd Heavy Penal Court, said, "One day while I was interning, he told me that I was very beautiful. Then the subject turned to swimming, and when I said that I liked swimming, he asked if I had a video of me swimming. I said I didn't. Then the subject suddenly turned to alcohol. After talking a little more, he asked me if I liked to dance. I said I didn't know how to dance. Then he closed the curtains. I stood up, and while standing, he said 'come, let's dance.' I told him that I didn't know how to dance. He put his hand on mine and his other hand on my waist. During the dance, he touched me 6-7 times. He wanted to kiss my lips, but I pulled back. I told him that I was uncomfortable and wanted to leave. At that moment, he kissed both of my hands while holding them. I pulled myself back and left."

"DID YOU COME TO THE COURTHOUSE TODAY?"

Judge A.E., in his statement in the indictment, denied the charges, and the security camera footage of B.I. leaving the judge's office in a panic was also included as evidence. The expert report on the examination of the victim's phone was also included in the indictment, stating that the day after the incident, Judge A.E. sent a message saying "Did you come to the courthouse today? Is everything okay?" and had unanswered calls.
