The veil of mystery surrounding the 'severed head' murder in Isparta has begun to lift. According to the initial findings of the investigation, the suspects stopped the vehicle of shepherd Ferdi Özdemir, stabbed him, then severed his head from his body, and finally set his vehicle on fire.
The investigation into the murder of 39-year-old shepherd Ferdi Özdemir, whose head was found severed from his body next to his burned vehicle while he was being searched for as missing in Isparta, is deepening. While extensive search efforts continue to find Özdemir's severed head, initial information reflected in the investigation file revealed that the horrific murder was carried out in a planned manner.
'PLANNED AMBUSH' ALLEGATION
According to a report in Sabah, Özdemir began to proceed on the Dinar–Isparta highway after entering the village grocery store on the night of the incident. The shepherd, who headed towards the mountain road to check on his goats, was soon stopped by unidentified individuals.
"THEY STABBED AND CUT OFF HIS HEAD"
According to allegations, the attackers killed Ferdi Özdemir with a knife after pulling him out of the vehicle. They then severed the shepherd's head and set his vehicle on fire to cover their tracks. Many military personnel participated in the efforts to find the severed head after the incident.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The vehicle of Özdemir, who was reported missing in the village of Aydogmus in the Keçiborlu district, was found burned in a mountainous area. Upon the notification of citizens who noticed a motionless person lying near the vehicle, teams were dispatched to the area. During the examination, it was determined that the head of the corpse was missing.

As a result of the investigations, it was confirmed that the corpse belonged to Ferdi Özdemir. The shepherd was captured on security camera entering a market in the village shortly before the incident at 19:55 and leaving after making a purchase.
HEART-WRENCHING CRY FROM THE GRIEVING FATHER
The father of the brutally murdered shepherd, Ramazan Ö., stated that his son had previous conflicts with certain individuals, saying, "They have killed my child, they have cut off his head. His head is severed from his body. He had enemies. I want those who did this to be found as soon as possible. They should face whatever punishment there is. They have cut off my child's head; the punishment should be death. We know that 4 people are currently in custody. Probably two of them are individuals he had conflicts with before. My child had his breakfast in the morning and left home saying, 'I am taking the goats to the mountain.' There was nothing suspicious in his behavior. The place he was going is only a 5-minute distance, but he lingered there for 17 minutes that day," he said.
