China's urban unemployment rate fell to a six-month low in July, reaching 5.4%, according to the National Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
The figure was slightly down from 5.5% in June, data showed.
The youth unemployment rate – age 16-25 – rose to 19.9% in July while it was 19.3% a month ago.
In the first seven months, the newly increased employed people in urban areas totaled 7.83 million, the statement noted.
The employees of enterprises worked 48 hours per week on average. -
