CHP Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan, who was accused of making sexual remarks towards a woman in Edirne and expressing his desire to be with her, was beaten with kicks and punches after the ensuing fight. Following the spread of the incident's footage on social media, the CHP headquarters took action and summoned Yazgan to the center for defense and review.

After the footage of the incident spread on social media, a statement was issued from CHP headquarters about Yazgan.
SUMMONED TO CHP HEADQUARTERS
CHP Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı announced in a statement on his social media account that Yazgan has been summoned to CHP headquarters to investigate the incident in all its aspects.
In his post, Sarı said, 'Our Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan, whose images were published on some social media platforms today, has been summoned to CHP headquarters to investigate the matter in all its aspects.'
FOOTAGE OF THE INCIDENT EMERGED
In the footage showing the moments when Yazgan was beaten, the deputy is seen on the ground while a person beats him with kicks and punches. In the footage, another person is later seen trying to lift Yazgan from the ground.
Within the scope of the investigation into the incident, 3 people were detained, and it was learned that the suspects claimed in their statements that the fight broke out due to the sexual remarks Yazgan allegedly made toward a woman at home and his 'desire to be with her.'
SEXUAL HARASSMENT ALLEGATION TO BE INVESTIGATED
It was learned that the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office will also separately investigate the sexual harassment allegation raised in the suspects' statements. It was noted that after this review, the report to be prepared is planned to be sent to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Meanwhile, it was learned that the judicial investigation into the assault on Yazgan continues.
