CHP leader Özel's striking warning to Erdoğan: I will expose you.

As Israel continues its efforts to spread the war to the entire region following the massacre in Gaza, the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) has also taken action. On Tuesday, October 8, the TBMM decided to convene in response to the Israeli threat that Turkey is also facing. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a statement regarding the issue.

ÖZEL: ERDOĞAN MUST SHARE ALL EVIDENCE REGARDING THE ISRAELI THREAT IN THE ASSEMBLY

Özel stated that President Erdoğan should also participate in the session and emphasized that all evidence regarding the Israeli threat should be shared. Özel said: "If the President of a country comes to the podium of the assembly and says, 'Israel will soon attack us, its targets include Anatolian lands, we are here,' he must immediately share all the justifications, all the evidence, and all the intelligence in that assembly. He will not be able to do this in an open session; we said let it be a closed session, just give us information. I find it positive that the assembly is convening here. However, it is essential for Mr. Erdoğan to attend that session."

"HE SHOULD COME OUT AND EXPLAIN EVERYTHING THERE"

Sending two ministers to provide information is contrary to the seriousness of the matter. Ministers can also provide information. There is no obligation for this session to last 15-20 minutes or half an hour; it could even last a day. All relevant ministers should provide information, but Erdoğan should come out and explain everything there.

"I WILL EXPOSE"

Therefore, I expect a presentation that befits the seriousness of the state and an appropriate briefing. I will act in accordance with that seriousness. If they behave unseriously, of course, the minutes of the closed session will remain confidential for 10 years, but if I am not satisfied with the content on behalf of my nation, I will share this with my nation. I will not share the content, but I will share the deception happening there.

My concern is that this issue is being inflated as an artificial agenda to restore the political reputation lost due to security concerns. If anyone attempts to do this, I will expose it. If there are real security issues that they know and we do not, we will do whatever is necessary. However, we will not step back from discussing the main issues of this nation.

ISRAEL SESSION IN TBMM

In a recent statement, President Erdoğan said, "The place Israel will set its sights on after Lebanon, I say openly, will be our homeland. Netanyahu is including Anatolia in his dreams." Following Erdoğan's remarks, CHP leader Özgür Özel also stated that the TBMM should be informed immediately, saying, "We emphasize that this session should be held in a closed format. Because after saying, 'There are intelligence-value information, I cannot say it here,' the speculation cannot be prevented." After this call, TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş announced that the Assembly would be informed about the Israeli threat.
