CHP leader Özel: We requested intelligence support to prevent terrorist infiltration during the membership recruitment process for CHP.

The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, shared a noteworthy detail from his meeting with the head of MIT, İbrahim Kalın. Özgür Özel stated, "We are receiving a large number of applications for the CHP's offices abroad. During the membership recruitment process, we requested intelligence support from MIT to prevent infiltration by FETÖ or other terrorist organizations into the CHP. Especially now, we will be opening representative offices of the CHP in many states in the USA. There is a serious risk there."

While the repercussions of MIT President İbrahim Kalın's visit to the CHP the day before yesterday continue, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has made a statement regarding the critical meeting. Özel revealed the request they conveyed to İbrahim Kalın during the crucial meeting.

"THE MEETING WITH İBRAHİM KALIN IS OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE"

Speaking to Kübra Par from tv100, Özel said: "The fact that the meeting with İbrahim Kalın has taken place is of historical significance. As the Republican People's Party, we are the strongest candidate of the government and the leading party in the last elections. It is already valuable, regardless of the content, for the National Intelligence Organization to come to the CHP and make a presentation and answer the CHP's questions. I find this important."

The beginning of the incident was as follows: İbrahim Kalın had made a presentation to the AK Party. I wrote to him, "Why are you making a distinction between us and the AK Party? If there are only information that the state’s important institution should know, please let us know. Otherwise, please come and make a presentation to us as well." I had stated that we were saddened by the National Intelligence Organization's such an attitude without using a rude tone.

"A LISTENING DEVICE SCAN WAS CONDUCTED BEFORE THE MEETING"

We met at Anıtkabir on November 10. He is a person with strong communication skills and has had good relations with us in the past. He shook my hand, indicated that he received my letter, and said, 'I would like to visit you and make a presentation at an appropriate time.' Following this statement, communication was established among our private secretaries, and a date was set. For security reasons, the time and entry-exit details were kept confidential. We said, "Come to the 12th floor and take the necessary precautions." Before the meeting, MIT officials took the necessary security measures in the meeting room, conducted a listening device scan, and secured the room. This confidentiality was implemented with sensitivity in accordance with MIT's working principles. We met at 11 o'clock, but we agreed to announce it during the day.

"WE ASKED 15 QUESTIONS"

During the meeting, presentations were made on three main topics: PKK, FETÖ, and ISIS. Additionally, information was provided about other Islamist terrorist organizations connected to ISIS. Three different experts made the presentations; İbrahim Kalın contributed in between. After these presentations, we directed the 15 questions we had prepared. We received answers to 9 of our questions; I asked the remaining 6 questions in detail again.

"WE REQUESTED INTELLIGENCE SUPPORT TO PREVENT FETÖ INFILTRATION INTO CHP ABROAD"

We also had a request for support from him. We receive numerous applications at CHP's offices abroad. We requested intelligence support from MIT to prevent FETÖ or other terrorist organizations from infiltrating the CHP during membership admissions. Especially now, we will open representation offices for the CHP in many states in the USA. There is a serious risk there. There is also a PKK threat in Germany. A statement made there later becomes associated with the party. From that perspective, it is very dangerous... We asked for help on this matter. They also said they would be happy to assist with this. Thus, our meeting had a positive outcome.
