In these days when normalization steps are discussed in politics, both President Erdogan and CHP leader Ozgur Ozal are careful to adjust the dosage while criticizing each other in order not to harm the process. However, CHP leader Ozal made striking statements in a speech at the Second Century Vision Workshop on Overseas Organization organized by the Republican People's Party today. "WE HAD FALLEN TO A SHAMEFUL PLACE"Commenting on Turkey's removal from the 'gray list' in 2021 due to its lag in combating money laundering and financing terrorism, Ozal said, "Someone will come out and say, 'the old ones don't know, the young ones don't know, we used to be on the gray list.' Let's remind them here. We entered the gray list in 2021. We entered the gray list because some legislative regulations were not made rapidly in recent days. We were on the gray list. This is a very shameful situation. Burkina Faso, Yemen, Syria, Mali, Congo are on the list. The place we were in was already a place where many countries were. We didn't move up to a higher league there. We had fallen to a shameful place. We finally got out of the place where Burkina Faso was, half-heartedly, even with strange evaluations like 'will they keep us there with a political decision' and with a lack of self-confidence. But it was no one but this government that kept us there for three years and confronted Turkey with this shame," he said. THESE WORDS ARE FOR ERDOGAN: WE DON'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLYCriticizing President Erdogan's words "Full membership in the European Union is our strategic goal," Ozal said, "We appreciate that Erdogan has remembered the European Union relations that he has not mentioned for a long time and has even made it a polemical area whenever he mentions it as domestic political material. However, we don't take it very seriously," he said. ERDOGAN HAD SAID "STOP THE TENSION POLITICS"In his recent speech at the party group meeting, President Erdogan said, "We want the CHP to stop tension politics, normalize, make peace with national will, and our nation and democracy will benefit from it. Our desire to give a chance to dialogue does not mean that we will accept impudence towards our party, our government, and the People's Alliance. Being polite does not mean that we will tolerate rudeness. We are soft-headed, but no one should forget that we are not submissive sheep. Now they come out and constantly talk about 'criminal partnership'. Those who are looking for a criminal partner should not bother themselves too much, they should look at the money towers whose origins and current destinations they cannot fully explain. Those who are looking for a criminal partner should question who they walked with in the so-called 'urban consensus' before they speak ill of us," he said.
