CHP Izmir Deputy Mahir Polat, a close associate of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, made a claim that will stir things up. Polat said, "Kemal Bey will not go to the headquarters today. There are those who will be referred to discipline. Those who call Kemal Bey a traitor will have their ties with the party severed and will be referred to discipline."

Following the absolute nullity decision regarding CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, the internal party activity is escalating. CHP Izmir Deputy Mahir Polat, known for his closeness to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, made striking statements during the hours of ongoing tension in front of the party headquarters. Stating that Kılıçdaroğlu would not go to the party headquarters today, Polat signaled that a comprehensive disciplinary process would begin within the party.

"THERE ARE THOSE TO BE REFERRED TO DISCIPLINE"

Mahir Polat said that those who harshly criticized Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu during and after the congress process are in the spotlight. Polat stated, "There are those to be referred to discipline. Those who call Kemal Bey a traitor will have their ties with the party severed," clearly indicating that no concessions would be made and expulsion processes would be initiated.

On the other hand, it was claimed that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu put forward a striking condition for the congress to be convened during his meeting with Özgür Özel the day before.

KILIÇDAROĞLU'S CONDITION OF 4 DEPUTIES

It was alleged that Kılıçdaroğlu demanded the removal or resignation of 4 deputies known for their closeness to Özel.

According to the claim, the individuals in question were CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır, CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut, CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba, and CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S "NO" RESPONSE

It was stated that Özgür Özel did not respond positively to Kılıçdaroğlu's demand. According to the news in Nefes newspaper, it was alleged that Özel answered "no" to the said request during the meeting.

"PRECONDITION FOR THE CONGRESS" CLAIM

According to information conveyed from Kılıçdaroğlu's side, the removal of these individuals from the party was brought up as a precondition for CHP to hold an early congress.

Some deputies close to Kılıçdaroğlu argued that Özgür Özel, as group chairman, had the authority to take the necessary steps.

CALL FOR DISCIPLINARY BOARD

Individuals close to Kılıçdaroğlu expressed that the said deputies should be referred to the disciplinary board.

Some party sources claimed that initiating the expulsion process was critical for the congress process.

"ABSOLUTE NULLITY" DECISION

The 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice (BAM) ruled in the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, to provisionally remove Özgür Özel and the party administration from duty, and for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration to take over the duty.

Additionally, it was decided to cancel the CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress held on October 8, 2023, and all decisions taken at that congress on the same grounds.

The chamber rejected the objection made by CHP Headquarters against the interim measure decision regarding the CHP Congress.
