In Adana, 52-year-old Ayşe Katırcı, who was threatened with death by her ex-husband, whom she divorced 10 years ago—first by sending her a shroud and then with the words “I bought you a grave plot”—was stabbed in 13-14 places at her home. After remaining in a coma for four days, the woman who clung to life claimed that her arrested ex-husband was also threatening her from prison while she struggled with loss of strength in her right hand and pain throughout her body.

In Adana, 52-year-old Ayşe Katırcı, who was threatened by her ex-husband, whom she divorced 10 years ago, first by sending a shroud and then by saying "I bought you a burial plot," was stabbed 13-14 times in front of her neighbor by her ex-husband Arif T., who entered her home on August 9, 2026. The woman, who clung to life after spending 4 days in a coma but is trying to continue her life with loss of strength in her right hand and constant pain throughout her body, claimed that her ex-husband sent a threatening message from prison this time through her grandchild.

FIRST HE SENT A SHROUD, THEN STABBED HER

According to the allegation, Arif T. (56), who began threatening Ayşe Katırcı, whom he divorced 10 years ago, first sent his ex-wife a shroud and then threatened her with death by saying "I bought you a burial plot." Following the threats, Arif T. entered Katırcı's home from the back on August 9, 2026, and stabbed the woman 13-14 times in the presence of her neighbor. The severely injured woman was taken to the hospital by medical teams. Katırcı, who remained in a coma for 4 days, clung to life, while the suspect ex-husband was caught and arrested by the court he was brought before.

SHE REMAINED IN A COMA FOR 4 DAYS, SHE CANNOT USE HER HAND

After the attack, Ayşe Katırcı, who experienced loss of strength in her right hand and has difficulty continuing her daily life due to pain in her body, said that her ex-husband continued to threaten her from prison. Describing what she went through, Katırcı said, "Maybe I am breathing right now, but I am not living. I have become half a person. During the hospital process, I already died a thousand times, and I am still the same way. If I could have made my voice heard earlier, I would not have come to this state. He stabbed me in 13-14 places. I cannot use my hand, I cannot use any part of my body. I am only breathing, but because of the pain I endure, I cannot even be happy that I am breathing."

ALLEGATION OF THREAT FROM PRISON THROUGH HER GRANDCHILD

Claiming that her ex-husband still threatens to kill her, Katırcı stated that her grandchild relayed to her the words she heard during a prison visit and spoke as follows: "When my grandchild went to the prison for a visit, he sent word, 'The state will give me a sentence of one or two years; when I get out, I will complete my unfinished business and come back.' So he has made up his mind to kill me. When the children went to reproach him, the child came and told me, 'Grandma, he is going to kill you.' I was left astonished."

SHE HAS NO FINANCIAL MEANS TO FLEE ADANA

Stating that she is concerned for her safety, Katırcı said that she cannot leave Adana due to financial difficulties, and spoke: "I have no chance of living anyway, I am aware of that. I have no way out either. Since I have no financial situation, I cannot escape from Adana, nor can I go anywhere. I trust in the punishment our state will give. My only wish is that he receives a good punishment in return for the pain he caused me. I still want to be a voice for women. When I look at the news, I constantly see that women are being killed. I don't want it to stay like this."
