Coca-Cola announced that it would stop production just seven months after launching Coca-Cola Spiced and Coca-Cola Spiced Zero Sugar flavors.
The Atlanta-based beverage giant stated on Wednesday that these spice-flavored products would be replaced with new offerings. The company said in a statement, "We continuously review our consumers' preferences and adjust our product range accordingly."
IT WAS THE FIRST NEW PERMANENT PRODUCT ADDITION
These flavors had made their debut on shelves in the U.S. and Canada on February 19, marking Coca-Cola's first permanent addition to its North American portfolio in three years. Coca-Cola did not provide a specific explanation for why these products were being removed, but it is speculated that it may be related to their rapid market launch.
DECLINE IN SALES VOLUME
On the other hand, Coca-Cola İçecek A.Ş., one of the companies facing protests and boycott campaigns due to Israel's attacks on Gaza, had notified KAP regarding its sales volume. The company stated, "Due to the sensitivities in the Middle East that have lasted longer than expected and politically cautious consumer sentiment, we are revising our sales volume expectation for the entire year from mid-single-digit growth to flat-low-single-digit growth."
