Ukraine attacked Russia with US-made missiles last November, escalating tensions between the two countries. Russian leader Putin, after the attack, changed his nuclear doctrine, causing concern worldwide. Ukraine has once again taken action today. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine launched an attack on the military airfield in the Rostov region, located on Russian territory, using American-made long-range Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) missiles, and that necessary steps would be taken regarding this.

ATTACK ON RUSSIAN MILITARY AIRFIELD

In a statement from the ministry, it was noted that the Ukrainian army attacked the military airfield in the city of Taganrog, located in the Rostov region, with Western-produced high-precision weapons this morning. The statement included, "As a result of the investigations, it was determined that 6 ATACMS missiles were used in the attack. 2 of them were shot down by the Pantsir Air Defense System, while the remaining ones were intercepted by electronic means."

"NECESSARY STEPS WILL BE TAKEN"

In the statement, it was reported that military personnel were injured due to the falling missile fragments, and that 2 buildings belonging to the airfield, 3 military vehicles, and civilian cars in the parking lot were damaged. It was stated, "This attack carried out with Western long-range weapons will not go unanswered. Necessary steps will be taken regarding this."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

The Russian Ministry of Defense had reported last month that Ukraine had attacked targets in the Russian territories of Bryansk and Kursk with ATACMS missiles. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on November 28 that in response to the use of American and British long-range weapons against Russian territory, they had launched an attack on Ukrainian military assets with 90 missiles and 100 drones.
