Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan has appointed new ambassadors and permanent representatives to serve in Turkey's foreign missions. The decision includes 28 diplomatic appointments, with an assignment also made to Turkey's first embassy opened in Iceland.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has announced new assignments for individuals who will serve at Turkey's embassies in various countries and permanent missions to international organizations. According to information obtained from diplomatic sources, a comprehensive reshuffle will see many experienced diplomats representing Turkey in different capitals.
CRITICAL APPOINTMENTS FROM TEHRAN TO KYIV
Under the decision, Ambassador Ahmet Aydın Doğan, Head of the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol, has been appointed as Turkey's Ambassador to Tehran. Fatma Ceren Yazgan, currently serving as Ambassador to The Hague, has been assigned to the Kyiv Embassy.
Hakan Karaçay was appointed to the Amman Embassy, Hüseyin Ergani to the Muscat Embassy, Can Oğuz to the Kuwait Embassy, and Şener Cebeci to the Ashgabat Embassy.
FIRST AMBASSADOR TO ICELAND
One of the notable aspects of the appointments is Turkey's first embassy in Iceland. Mustafa Levent Bilgen, currently serving as Ambassador to Kyiv, has been appointed to the Reykjavik Embassy.
Thus, Turkey's first ambassador to Reykjavik has been officially designated.
NEW REPRESENTATIVES AT THE UN AND COUNCIL OF EUROPE
Significant assignments were also made to international organizations. Ambassador Ayşe Sözen Usluer, Istanbul Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been appointed as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Ambassador Raziye Bilge Koçyiğit, Director General for Foreign Policy Planning and Coordination, has become the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to the Council of Europe.
NOTABLE CHANGES IN AFRICA AND ASIA
The decree also included changes in many missions in Africa. Ferhat Alkan was appointed to the Mogadishu Embassy, Selin Özaydın to the Nairobi Embassy, Senem Güzel to the Kinshasa Embassy, Fikriye Aslı Güven to the Windhoek Embassy, and Fahri Türker Oba to the Khartoum Embassy.
In Asia, Fatih Yıldız was appointed to the Seoul Embassy, Kaan Esener to the Manila Embassy, and Presidential Advisor Dr. Necati Sancaktutan to the Manama Embassy.
A TOTAL OF 28 APPOINTMENTS MADE
Under the new assignments by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a total of 28 individuals were appointed to embassies and permanent missions. It was stated that the decision is considered one of the significant changes that will shape Turkey's foreign policy and diplomatic agenda in the coming period.
