According to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers discussed the current hot tensions in the region in all their dimensions during their meeting. Additionally, the latest situation in the ongoing behind-closed-doors negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as future diplomatic steps, were evaluated.
CEASEFIRE IN LEBANON COLLAPSES: ISRAEL STRIKES BEIRUT
The development that triggered the missile crisis in the region occurred in Lebanon. Despite the declared ceasefire, the Israeli army today carried out a severe airstrike on the Dahieh area, one of the strategic points of the Lebanese capital Beirut. Iranian officials responded strongly to Israel's move that disregarded the ceasefire, announcing to the world that a response would be given without delay.
IRAN'S RESPONSE: MILITARY AIR BASE TARGETED WITH BALLISTIC MISSILES
Immediately after the statements of reaction, the Iranian army launched a retaliatory operation. In the official statement, it was reported that the Ramat David Air Base, stated to be the command and operations center for Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon, was precisely targeted with ballistic missiles.
